WMPC Gospel 1230AM

Where Many Preach Christ

WMPC, 1230 AM is owned and operated by the Calvary Bible Church of Lapeer, Michigan. The station began broadcasting on December 6, 1926 from a homemade transmitter in the Methodist Protestant Church. In fact that’s where WMPC gets its name. Later the church changed its name to the Calvary Bible Church.

WMPC is one of the oldest continuously operating Christian radio stations in the United States. It has only had four managers over the years. Rev. Frank Hemmingway, Rev. Arnold Bracy, Robert (Bob) Baldwin, and currently Ed LeVoir.

Gospel 1230 WMPC plays a careful mix of inspirational music and God honoring programs, which continue to meet the needs of listeners in Lapeer, Flint, Imlay City and Northern Oakland County.

WMPC is non-commercial and holds a Sharathon once a year (usually in the Spring) to raise the revenue needed to continue broadcasting.
